leslie and the ly's

so yea this might have been the most fun i've had in a while and i've had A LOT of fun lately. this was also one of the weirder experiences i've had here haha. this sort of crazy act was brought to my attention by a friend amy and when she said she wanted to go i figured why not. it was a blast, she is the "slightly" overweight girl you see in the pictures below who writes raps about gem sweaters (which she collects), gold spandex pants, and well yea, mostly just that, oh and shooting zombies in the face? we talked to her sister a lil bit before the show and it turns out that she started doing this when she went to the SMFA which is right next to Northeastern. but yea, look at the pics and video below and maybe you'll understand why it was hysterical. very funny crowd too as you can imagine.

blue scholars

this is a seattle hip hop duo that is one dj and one emcee. i dont need to say much more than these dudes are sick. they dont spend their time rappin about blunts, hoes, and guns and actually have good rhymes. pretty cool that a lot of it has to do with the north west and seattle too which makes it cool cause i already catch a lot of the things they mention in their lyrics. oh and at one point during the show, the dj just shut down his setup and came out with his iphone and was just jamming on it for a whole song, which is one of the pics below, it was ridiculously cool.
soooo eeeyyeaaa listen to them nowwwhttp://www.myspace.com/bluescholars

rattlesnake ridge trail starting from snoqualmie point

so this was an interesting hike but really pretty awesome. not a lot of traffic and it was wicked beautiful with all the snow, probably close to a foot most all the way. went on it with two friends, lindsey and vanessa, make that three friends cause of v's dog nash. whom at the beginning of the trip had his own hiking boots on which was hilarious. took us close to about 5 hours, as, well i won't mention any names, but someone who wanted to stop quite frequently. haha. here is some pics.

donavon frankenreiter is a chill dude

saw donavon this past, past Tuesday, so like last week, yea i've been a little lazy with updating this. but yea basically when you talk about your chill dudes you're probably talkin about donavon. put on a sick show and even threw the mic into the crowd during "it don't matter" to let us sing and he closed with the band's - the weight which you can't really complain about it. long story short, go see donavon. dude even sells his autographed posters for just 10 bucks. chilllllll dude.

krochet kids international

krochet kids international is a nonprofit organization that i have made the decision the help out by becoming a representative for. i decided to join in because i heard a little bit about them and then after doing some more research, it just seemed like a good fit for me. in short, krochet kids international is a nonprofit to help empower individuals to raise above poverty. they do this by giving them a steady job, the skill of crocheting, and the education on how to manage their money properly. the current area of focus is a group of women in northern Uganda and there are hopes to spread that focus area with growth. the beanies that these woman crochet are shipped back over here to the states where people such as myself sell them. 100% of the profits goes directly back to helping this cause and empowering these people in Uganda. below is a picture of the hats i currently have after meeting up with one of the starters last night, Kohl. if you would like to buy one, give me a call or send me an email letting me know. if you want me to take a better picture of a particular hat let me know that and i can do that. hopefully you'll decide to pick one of these up, not only are you getting an awesome handmade beanie straight from the people we are helping in Uganda, but you are helping out a great cause and more importantly, someone's life. beanies are between $25 and $30.
check out http://krochetkids.org/ for more info.

Matt Wertz

Saw matt wertz last night at triple door. Alternate routes opened up for them. It was a real solid show and of course matt was awesome. It was a little different because then venue was a dinner theatre so there wasn't much dancing but a different and new expierence that I guess I'm glad I can say I've done.

mount si

sunday kyle and i climbed mount si, its a pretty steep hike all the way up, 4 miles up and 4 miles down and took us a lil over 5 hours to do. we spent a decent amount of time on the top where there was a few feet of snow at some parts of the summit. the coolest part of the hike was definitely at the top when you get to a point where there is about a couple hundred foot scramble to get to the "true" summit where the scramble is up is at somewhere around 70 degrees or so and some points. so its was pretty intense, you would definitely get seriously hurt if you fell. but yea we got up to the top and enjoyed the view in between taking cover in a small area of cover which we used to devour the little bit of food we brought with us before heading back down again. the view was sick, other than the cold and wind the weather was beautiful. you could see all the way to downtown seattle and a clear view of mt. rainier to the south. a solid hike, great workout and would def recommend it to people.
